To ensure your safety, the safety of other guests and our contractors, we respectfully draw your attention to the following information:
This Risk Assessment has been carried out following the guidelines on the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) web site

Potential Hazards

  • Contamination of the accommodation by guests who are asymptomatic or who develop symptoms whilst staying in Lily House.
  • Transmission of the virus between guests or between guests and contactors/suppliers.

Who is at Risk?

  • Other guests with subsequent bookings, particularly the elderly or those with underlying health conditions.
  • Cleaning and maintenance Contractors and their immediate families.
  • The wider public locally.

Actions to Control Risk

Guests who are exhibiting symptoms or who have any reason to believe they may have come into contact with the virus up to 14 days prior to their booking must follow the Government instruction to self-isolate, and follow NHS guidelines. Therefore, should not arrive at the accommodation.

Guests who are already staying at the accommodation that show any symptoms must notify us immediately and vacate the accommodation to self-isolate at home.

Anybody in one of the vulnerable groups identified by the government should follow government advice, they can contact us for help and advice with their booking.

Contractors who are exhibiting symptoms or who have reason to believe they may have come into contact with the virus within the previous 14 days should not come into Lily House and should follow NHS guidelines.

We ask all guests to follow current guidelines on social distancing.

Guests should arrange for groceries to be delivered to their accommodation to avoid trips to the shops if possible

Guests are advised that there may be restricted opportunities to eat out at this time and should prepare to self-cater.

Guests please make the contract cleaners aware if you use/intend to use the cot or high chair.

 Further information for guests:

  • Guests are requested to comply strictly with our arrival time of 15.00, and our departure time of 10.00
  • Guests are requested to strip their own beds and put used linen and towels in the bags provided.
  • Guests are requested to empty all bins and place tied bags in external waste bins.
  • Cleaners are requested to dispose immediately of any lost property left by guests.
  • Guests are requested to vacate Lily House if it is necessary for cleaning or maintenance contractors to enter the property.
  • Guests should follow full government handwashing guidelines at all times.

 Contract Cleaners

We always strive to maintain extremely high standards of cleanliness in Lily House, but our contract cleaners will be implementing extra hygiene procedures for the foreseeable future including:   disinfecting on each clean:

  • Garden furniture
  • Remote controls
  • Door handles and doors
  • Lamp pulleys/ switches
  • Light switches
  • Electric switches
  • Furniture where possible
  • Window openers
  • Kitchen and bathroom equipment
  • Keys


  • Clean mattress and pillow protectors for each stay
  • Pump action soap/sanitiser to be provided for bathrooms and kitchen
  • Remove all loose cushions and throws
  • Remove magazines left in cottages from previous guests
  • Wipe CD/DVD covers

PPE. Cleaners will be provided with:

  • Plastic disposable aprons
  • Tabards
  • Disposable boiler suits
  • Face masks
  • Gloves

You will be able to choose any one of the following options if you cancel your booking because UK government public health measures mean that it is unlawful to travel to or make use of the accommodation you booked:

 Full refund
We will refund you the full amount you have paid for your booking.

 Transfer to a later date or different accommodation
Subject to availability, we will help you move your booking to a later date with no admin fees, but please be aware that if the cost of your new booking is higher than your original booking, then you’ll need to pay the difference.
